The Weimaraner Club of Northern Illinois had a training day for its members. They had some left over quail to share with all who could make it out to John and Mary’s place. It was a warm and windy day but perfect place to learn more about how to train dogs. I saw them help others with exercises to help the dogs strengthen their backing and steady to shot. There was dogs with a wide level of skill sets. They ranged from dogs that had never seen birds to master hunters. I learned how to work with Sydney so that I might have her steady to shot. I also learned what I need to practice with Raven to get her to point and hold a point. The experience was invaluable for me and my girls. The club members were very helpful, generous with their time, and extremely informative. We have a lot of practice ahead of us, but feel a bit more comfortable that what I am doing now is helping.
